We help you prepare and submit your assessment.
Cyber Essentials is the UK Government baseline: five technical controls that stop the most common internet attacks. A licensed Certification Body, working through IASME (the NCSC's delivery partner), marks the assessment and issues the badge. TekSupport is not a Certification Body, not an NCSC Cyber Advisor, and we do not claim Cyber Essentials certification we do not hold.
What the £295 + VAT visit covers
On site we map what is in scope for a small to medium sized business: laptops, phones, home workers, routers, and every cloud service that holds business data (Microsoft 365 included; cloud cannot be left out). We walk the five controls: firewalls, secure configuration, security update management, user access control, and malware protection.
You leave with a written gap list: what would fail today, including the two automatic fails under the current rules (MFA not on a cloud service that offers it, and high-risk or critical updates older than 14 days).
The IASME assessment fee is separate, from £320 + VAT, set by IASME by headcount (that figure is the 0–9 staff rate and steps up), paid to the scheme not to us.
What monthly checks look like
One pass per client. The evidence is dates and a screenshot — not a vibe. Each month we check, in scope:
- Cloud list still true (Microsoft 365 and every SaaS with business data).
- MFA still on for every cloud service that offers it.
- High-risk and critical updates inside 14 days for OS, firmware, and apps.
- Leavers gone, unique accounts, admin rights still split.
- Firewall defaults still gone, no new inbound holes.
- Device lock on, unused apps still stripped.
- Malware protection still on every in-scope device.
- Last backup actually completed.
Then one line: anything that would fail an assessment today.
We can help submit the IASME questionnaire. We do not mark it or award the certificate — a licensed Certification Body does. A senior person in the client's organisation still confirms the answers.

Step 2 — ongoing support
£225/ month from
Your own IT desk — pay monthly.
After the first visit, only if it suits you: a simple monthly IT desk for the day-to-day. Typically £225–£350 for a small team — Cyber Essentials support sits at the top of that band. Not a per-user card, no 15-person floor, no lock-in.
